Welcome to the journal archive...
My travels around Australia with Gosling One were originally published in 'blog' form as I went along, providing a helpful record of events for me when it came to penning the book, a nice place to publish a few of the photographs I had taken along the way and an excellent labour saving device when it came to staying in touch with family and friends.
I've re-issued it here so that those people who weren't able to read it at the time, have a chance to catch up here before they inevitably purchase the soon to be published book, you are all going to buy a copy right...right?
We start with the entry detailing my exit from New Zealand and arrival in Australia, before progressing through the many months and thousands of kilometres covered around the world's smallest continent on the back of my faithful motorcycle steed, Gosling One.
The Australian motorcycle expedition ends with the final entry entitled "All dressed up and nowhere to go...", originally published on the 20th of October 2007. The entries after that detail my attempts to return to the United Kingdom without ever leaving the ground, involving a quick trip to China and a slow boat from there to Italy.
The journal entries are exactly as they appeared in the blog when they were originally written. I've left everything intact, spelling and grammatical errors included; both because I'm too lazy to take them out and because I feel it's more authentic than to revise them into a more polished product. Most were penned whilst under oppressive time pressures in Australian internet cafes, but hopefully you'll find them entertaining.
